Twisted Paper

Ok, my scanner is scanning way lop-sided. Maybe its me! :0) Anyways, sorry for the lop pictures! This is a technique I call, Twisted paper.
You can see it at the top of this card in the green and in the card below in the purple.
What you do is you cut you a strip of paper, 1/2 inch thick. You ink up the edges on both sides. Then, you take one end, and about 1/2 inch in, you fold the strip like you are trying to make a square. You turn the paper over and fold the strip down the edge you just folded. (picture what you do with straws at the restaurants when you are waiting for food...) Or, remember when you took two pieces of paper and fold them over and over each other? Same principle, just one strip. You keep folding it over and over, making sure that you fold right next to the last fold, keeping it square and then when you are done, it will be a straight twisted paper, like a ribbon!
