Eclipse!

We were in direct path of totality for the eclipse!  They kept giving hype about it saying that 500,000 people were going to come.  I didn't believe it, but a lot of people did come.  My cousin who lives 50 miles away, took her over 41/2 hours to get home afterwards.
The strangest thing though is our neighbors across the street left and when they did, some random people pulled up and onto the middle of their lawn to watch the eclipse....okaaaay.  They left as soon as it started to come out of totality.
SO, I don't have a fancy camera, but here is what I got.
Shadows from the leaves, before totality, and then the double shadow of myself.

Hunter, ready for it, but not enthused.

Just for fun, my hubby acting like the poser, because he got his canoe loaded....

Very silent all around.  The dogs stopped barking, the chicken started roosting.  It was this color 360 degrees around us. Then the neighbors started shooting shot guns, and the other neighbors started fireworks...and everyone was whooping and hollering.  People are so weird.

My weirdo's staring at the eclipse....

 Leaves after totality.

Treat Boxes

Hi!  I was asked to make a handout for RS, and I had a little game for them to play also.  The game is 20 questions about Ice Cream.  So, I thought these little boxes would be really fun to do.

They are about an inch and a quarter square.  You make them with the envelope punch.  You can find the directions I used here.  I used sucker sticks as the handles instead of straws.  I also punched a little teeny tiny set of cherries out of my paper to use on the stick, so that they just don't fall through when you make them.
I used paper from Stampin Up! that was retired, about 2 years or more ago I think.  Probably more, I liked the paper so well I hoarded some.... and thought this would be perfect to use some!
Then I made some with the retired paper just this year, with peaches and flowers on it.

I punched a little flower to use on the handle.  I also used those beads you get for putting in your glass jars for decorating.  I got a bunch of them in all colors, I like the black ones for teeny tiny flower centers.
There's a pile of them!
Hope you like!

Something Springy

So, it's snowing outside and I thought I'd post something springy....  These are pencils I made.
I punched from the pendant punch from Stampin Up!, and I also used the banner punch.  Tied it all off with some bakers twine.
Then I made these bows.  So you know how you always have designer paper left over from whatever project that you have made.  Well, I've been saving them in a folder and here is what I did with them.
Each have six strips, all are 1 inch shorter than the next layer.  There are three layers of flower and the best way I could find to put them together was my trusty glue gun.  Then a silk flower in the center with a button to tie it off.
Hope you like!

Ahhh, back again.

Hi.  It's been forever.  But, on the plus side, I have been busy.  So, lately I signed up to be a team demonstrator with my upline in Stampin Up!.
So I made a couple of things lately.  Here is the first, I am doing some hot chocolate carafes for my neighbors.  I love that I get to use some straws with this one.
I am also using old retired Stampin Up! paper...

I wrapped them all in cellophane bags.  I love using stuff I got eons ago.  These bags I got from that magazine with all the cheap things in it, Trading something or other....anyways, it was almost 15 years ago.  I bought a bunch of these bags and I got to use the red and green ones for this.

Guess being a pack rat is good sometimes.... :)
Here is the new Snow Flurry stamp set.  I love that the punch matches it.  I used blackberry bliss paper and the new branches embossing folder.  I rubbed the trees in my white ink pad after I embossed it.
Same embossing folder, only this time I stamped the large tree from the Tree stamp set, names escape me today and I am too lazy to go look it up.  But you know the one I mean.  There are about 7 stamps and its all trees.  Its also the oldest stamp set in the catalog going back over 12 years.... The bear is from the camping stamp set.
And this one.  All sets are from the Holiday catalog, this tree had the weird antlers in the set, but the trees are gorgeous.  I stamped them in black twice on the background paper, then in color and cut out the third set.  Then I masked a moon and sponged the heck out of it.  Twirled silver thread behind them and popped them up.  I put stickles on the green trees and around the moon.
Last I stamped the All is Calm on the bottom.

Treats for Retreat

Over at Express the Moment, they had a spring retreat.  I got to make a couple of the treats for them
It started out with these cute little sixlets!
And then I put them into clear bags, sealed them and made some little tags to go around them.
Lastly, I did a little flower punch to tie it all off.
Then I did these treat bags, they are filled with skittles.  I made little tags for them, and tied them with ribbon and bakers twine.
I did them in three colors...
Hope you like!
