Barrel of Monkeys

My Hunter is a monkey baby. He dearly loved monkeys and would carry one around that was a beanie babie. (it was a mini one from McDonald's of all things..) He would put its head in his mouth and that is how we would go for a ride in the stroller. He is still in love with monkeys at age 9. He favors gorillas... I hope that is not how his personality is going to be at 16...

So, when I find a cute monkey stamp, of course, I need to get it. I found this super cute barrel of monkeys at http://www.whippersnappers.com/

And, I thought you might need a treat. Its a new thing I made. Super easy and Super good!!

First, make some rice crispy treats. Then on top of them, layer some dried apple slices, then, melt you some of those little carmels. Once they are melted, pour that over the dried apples. Then I took some white vanilla bark. I melted it and added some cinnamon and nutmeg. I drizzled that over the carmel.

It is soooo good!! You have to try it!

The only thing different I would have done, was cut it before the bark hardened up. It made it crumbly near the cut marks.

My boys loved it! I made two pans and this is what is left after one day!!

(1 batch of rice crispy treats, divided between two cake pans.

1 bag of dried apple rings, divided between the pans,

1 small bag of carmels melted, divided

1/2 brick of vanilla bark, melted and divided.)

ENJOY!!

Halloweenie Post

Ok, I know its not Halloweenie time yet... the key here, is...YET. If we can do Christmas in July, I can certainly do Halloweenie in August! (hee, hee) Anyways, you have to do a few Halloween things when fall is in the air. I pulled out one of my favorite stamp sets from SU... The dang thing is retired. But, it still makes really cute cards. So here is Dracula...
And a little witchie..gotta love the toad. Inside it says, "I brake for frogs".

And of course, we must have Frankinstien. His T-shirt reads, I love Bats. How funny is that? I know that they are really simple cards.. but then, it is a simple time of year too!
Enjoy!

What I've Been Up to...

Not a card share, I know. Sorry, but this is why there is no card share today!! This is what I have been doing the last several days. Up above, is my current jelly. We have a sweet little current bush in the yard I planted, and I got a couple of gallons of berries from it last week. SO, current jelly.
Then we went to the farmers market that they have here every Saturday. I picked up some beets, and pickled them. I love pickled beets.

Picked up some cucumbers and I made dill pickles.

And, I found these little interesting things. They are purple beans. By now I figure, you figured out that I love all things purple. So, I bought some. When you process them, they turn green, but the water is a lovely shade of lavender. I put dill, garlic and jalapenos in with the beans and I pickled them too..

And last of all, I went and picked apples at my MIL's and I made applesauce. Now, my kids don't eat it plain.. (dang this new age) so, I made it strawberry applesauce. It turned out real pretty I think...
So, that is why no new card share.. However... Jade is having braces put on today, and so I will be home in the afternoon... so I guess, expect something!!

Christmas....I know its August...

Ok. If I'm doing Christmas...I'm doin Christmas.... Here is a card I made, the bottom vellum is cardstock vellum. I am using it as a pocket, for the gift card. The card from Applebees...etc... will fit in the pocket. I didn't put that in there, because...Brilliant as I am this week, the Applebees card is Red. Did not match!! So, if you are going to case... here is my advice. Figure out what color your gift card is before you make your card!!
(still flashing "think girl, think girl!" in my head!)
here is a little tag I made to match it. Of course they both use the new colors from SU. Its Razzelberry and I forget the name of the blue. Bad of me again. See how my week is?? I used the SU wheel, and the Jolliest Time of the Year stamp set.
I think they turned out ok!

Swap Shares

I did a black and white swap a while ago... I am just getting some of them back! Here are two that filtered in! The top one is by Brittany Moon. Her accent color was crushed curry. I don't know if you can tell or not, but she also used the SU embossing template for the background.
This one was made by Candace Isom. You can see the faint outline of a butterfly on here....it is really three butterflies. It is punched into the card and the bottom layer is white. The middle layer is pink and top layer is the gingham. The scanner scrunches thing dang it!! Anyways, it is really pretty when it is puffed out!
Sorry I am just sharing from others today. I have to take my oldest in to be fitted for braces today. (he is screaming...) but, when your bottom teeth poke into the upper teeth's roots, you have to do something.
Tomorrow, we register for school! Summer so zoomed by!!!
Have a great day! Stamp something for me!!

Fleece Navidad

Christmas in July? That's what the challenge was. SO, this is what I came up with. This cute little sheep is a SU sheep. She is holding a heart. But I colored over that with liquid applique and heat puffed it. I colored the one side, so that it looks like a candy cane.
Then, I had to use my new scallop punch. It was fun layering it.
Hope you like it!
Bah hum bug!
