Ashlen's Book

My niece is getting baptized. So, because I make these books for other people, I am making her one too. I hope that she likes it. Her daddy told me her favorite color is Purple. Now her Nana tells me that her favorite color is Pink. Well, this is sort of in between.
I did a punch little girl. Ashlen has brown hair, so this little punchie does too. (Ashlen, has never been this still!)

Here is a close up of part of the book. I used some glitter designer paper and then I used my cuttlebug embossing folders to emboss the other letters. For the longer sheets, I just turned the embossing folder around, and embossed the second half of the paper.

Here is the last half of the book. I put rhinestones and ribbons all over it. I hope that it's girly!

Last of Teacher Appreciation! YES!

Remember these???
Well, I added them to this pile of mints...

And came up with this packet for Teacher Appreciation week. It tells what each mint means and what the teachers mean to us.

Here is the backside of the packet. I must tell you... I made 50 of these. I was really wishing that after the gum holders, the eraser packets, the crayon holders, that there was only 10 or so teachers left and I would only have to make 10 of these. But nope. BUT, its all done now! Yipee!

On a recipe roll...

Hello!! I'm on a recipe roll right now... I have been getting May, and June ready, thinking about July, and I needed to get caught up on the recipe's the other designer makes. Now you know, I never make anything the way they make it, so if you want to see how she did her's, please visit the gallery over at ETM. Here is my version of her layouts...
This first one is French Dip Sandwiches. I really liked her bird!
And Mango Pie? Mangos are my favorite fruit, so I am definitely going to try this one out!!

Here is for Artichoke Rice Salad. I liked the funky colors she used. I thought that the bird was way cute too, she did the legs different than I did, but I think mine are funky like the design.

Here's you a close up of the birdy feet. I tied hemp to the hemp strands that were hanging.

This one is Garlic Rosemary Potatoes. I added the little bugs in the flower. I thought my center was a little too open, but I soo love the big flower!

This one is Sprite Scones. Sounds good huh! Looks very easy to make too, will have to make some for the boys!

And last was a Spicy Sausage Dip. This one I make all the time, just never had a recipe for it. We love the dip, we even eat it on hoagie buns!

April Recipes!

Here are my recipes for April! You can buy them in a kit over at ETM! The first is for Sauerkraut Pork Chops! One you will love! My family has had this recipe since I was a little girl and it is such comfort food for me.
I am such a butterfly freak! I thought it was funny, I must not be the only butterfly freak out there, because they said, the number one tattoo for girls, is a butterfly. While I may not have one on my shoulder, I fancied this one up for the recipe!
This second one is for Confetti Rice, a recipe I made up while in college. It is really good cold on hot days, or hot on cold days! I used ric rac on this one, and took hemp and wound it around the ric rac, it made a nice design I though!

Project from Crop

Remember I went to the crop at ETM? Well, this is another one of the projects that we made that day. Its in a picture frame, we got to cut out designer paper, and assemble this picture! I thought it was a fun and easy project to do, also I liked that you could cut out any of the designs we wanted. I added flowers and hemp to my upper square...
I added a body and feelers to my butterfly too, the saying in the center was printed on pink, so I used heavy ink on it, to make it match the rest of the squares...I think it worked!

Disney Autograph Books

A friend was over the other day for me to do her hair, and she noticed a bunch of projects I was working on. So she asked me if I would make Disney Autograph books for her kids, as they are heading to Disneyland in a week or two. Of course! So here are the three books I made.

(*ok, I have to make a side note here. I went to a group LNS and asked if anyone had ever made autograph books before...I got quite a few responses and I looked at them all. They are all pretty similar to each other. We all want to make books like Disney, the original autograph book, see here and here but, in the crafting world, we know homemade ones are always the best! I like the one that my friend Monica made over at addalittledazzle that used the SU die, see her book here, but I didn't have her supplies...so I improvised. Mine uses the Spellbinders die for the shapes. The pages of mine are 4 inches big, the decorative paper is 3 1/2 square, and so far, mine are the only ones personalized with names!)
First is Lindsey, and she likes green and purple, so when I made the books, there is the Disney colors, Black, White, Red and Yellow, the other pages in this book are greens and purples.

Here is Nick's book. I used my cuttlebug and quickutz letters to make their names on the books.

Here is an inside page for Nick. All of the pages in the books are made up of Stampin Up papers. The characters came from things I got in the mail and cut out! His extra pages are Blue, Orange and Boy Green!

Here is Chloe's book. She is a pink and purple fan, so her extra pages are those colors. Her clip to hold them together has felt flowers too...

A Hippo Post!!

So Stampin Up has these really cute hippo's that are in vinyl, only they are Chalkboard Vinyl!! Naturally, I had to have a hippo. I wanted it for my stamproom, but he was a little too big, I got the medium size one. He is 15 by 20 inches. I couldn't figure out where I was going to put him! I have log walls, so putting him on a wall isn't an option.
Well, our Roberts store is closing, and this week everything in the store is 40percent off, so I found a picture frame that big, took it home, painted it purple! Then I put some purple DSP behind him and put him on the glass.
I put purple fibers on the side and tied my chalk to it. Here is pic of him! He's cute huh!
Then, my son and hubby have been working hard on a pinewood derby car. I can tell you, I really hate pinewood derby time! Jade was the first one we had to make cars for, and for 3 years in a row, Jade came in first place. Then Hunter comes along. "Dad, my cars have to be first too." His first car he made came in 3rd place. Son was really disappointed.
Hunter is the competitive one...
The second year, Hunter's car came in 2nd place, although no car ever won him in a race! We couldn't figure that one out...so he was po'd again.
So, this was Hunter's 3rd, and last car. He smoked em all! Yeah Hunter! This car came in first!

I have to say, I think this is the ugliest car they have ever made, he cut it out and all, so... I guess the only thing that counts, is how fast it went on the track! 186.7 miles per hour!
