Valentine "WIN!"

I entered a Valentine contest! Yep. Me. My niece emailed me the other night and said, I heard this contest on the radio, make a valentine for Alpine Jeweler's, and you can win a loose 1/2 carat diamond. I have wanted to enter before, so I thought , eh, why not?

Well, I'm doing school. Lots of school. It seems to take every dang second I have, but I decided to do this valentine in my spare time. I started on the 3rd of February. The contest ended today.

This is what my kitchen table has been looking like for almost 2 weeks... well, 10 days anyways... :)

OK!!! SO!!! I won second place!!!! It was a $500 dollar gift certificate!!

Here is what it looked like when I thought I finished it....

Here's an upclose of the top of it. I used wire for the handle, and then crystal beads. I used my cuttlebug and cut out letters, about 5 of each letter, and then I glued them together so they looked like chipboard.

Do you get what it says??? Hubby did not get it. It says, You Are My Love Potion #9!
Here is the back, I didn't want it to be plain, so I added a bunch of hearts on it. Each little tube has its own kind of candy, and each one has a test tube/flask as a tag on it. My cardstock is from Stampin' UP!, and one of the designer papers, but all of the other papers are from Express the Moment. Ones I got in a kit last year for valentines. The best part? I didn't buy any new supplies, they were all ones I had on hand! Yep!!

The only thing I had to buy, was some candy for it... I had some, but I spent $2.25 cents on other candy to finish filling it. Here's a side view for you. I put a test tube on the bottom side.
For the base, each tube is in its own separate little box. Then I glued all the boxes together, with the heart in the center of them. I then did separate sides to keep them glued together. They sit on two squares of cardstock, which sits on cardstock that I made into a fan fold, then glued together. That sits on 2 more layers of cardstock and then a layer of chipboard.
Here's a close up of the tags for each bottle.This tag is on the side of the heart, it is where the message is printed. Remember back in October when I went to Utah and saw that cute tag with the cauldron on it? Well, this is it, Valentine style! I didn't have the same punches, but the look is the same.
Here's the backside of the tag, it opens up to write in.
So, I thought I was finished, I called them to get the exact rules.... seems like you had to make the Valentine be addressed to them. Uh. Back to the table. I punched out a couple of hearts, stamped some letters, punched them and came up with their name on the top...
Finished!!!
Way fun to make. Way funner to get $500!!! (I already bought me some drop pearl earrings with emeralds on them! :) )

My first digital page...

So this month Stampin' UP! is offering a free 30 day trial of their Digital Program. I have been thinking about doing digital. Not sure that I really want to, so this is a good test to see if I want to make that big purchase.

I am a more hands on kinda a girl I think. But this is my first try at making something from their digital program.

I can't tell you how many times I got the error message. It does not like me. And then in the end, it doesn't look exactly how I want it to look. Why can't we color in the stamped image? Why can't you get background paper to fit where you want it to fit without stretching it out of proportion...I have a lot of questions...guess its a good thing that it is a trial version!!

One of the drawbacks... you don't get a whole lot of stuff to work with. This is the only stamp image in there, besides some circles made of dots. So, am going to play around with it some more.

Anyone out there in cyber land have this product? Can answer some questions???

New Year's Bundle

I got a creative bug the other day, and I made these little New Year's bundles for my stamping friends!! Here is what it looks like.... but I forgot to add the three little tags that said, Happy New Year on them... but I did make tags for all of them...teeny tiny tags.. :)

The little birdie is a test tube filled with birdseed! I couldn't wait to make it!
Ok, so the weird curly stuff at the top? Well, its a straw. A drinking straw. I cut it with a cutter and made it into a curly thing! Then I used double stick tape, wrapped it around the tube, and then put the ends of the straw on that, then wrapped bakers twine around to cover everything, and tied it in front in a knot...
Hold on to the straw and it bounces...
Here's a closeup of my flower... I like this flower stamp.. and I just got the punch. I know, I'm about 2 years late getting it, but I finally did. I stamped one and cut leaves out of them too...
Here's how I folded the little basket. First I started with a 6 X 6 piece. Fold it triangle wise...
Then you take one of the corners, fold it across like you were going to make a star...
Fold the other side over it, making sure they are even.
Then you are going to unfold them, and reverse fold the sides in, because you don't want to see where they criss cross each other...
Once they are reversed folded, then take one of the ends, and fold it in, and over the folds, making a pocket. It would be cute to fold both ends in too... But I didn't...
So here is what the end bundle looks like. I punched holes in the sides and tied it with baker's twine, but I could have used wire too... or ribbon... or another straw thingy...
Anyways, first project of the year...

Candy Bar holder plus gift card...

I got a cute pattern the other day over at Inking Idaho.... I changed it a tad, and these are the gift holders I made.

You insert a candy bar in them, and the bottom portion holds a gift card or card or whatever you want them to hold!

Then I did a bunch for a swap I'm in. Kinda fun paper, its pink/orange/green and red...

6 Generation Picture

Last year about this time, my friends mom asked me if I would make her a generation picture, which I did. I did it in black and white, you can find it here. After I made it for her, she asked me if I would make one for her other daughter who passed away a couple of years ago from a blood clot in her lung...

So, I went and got some more pictures, fixed them up, turned them sepia color, I made some frames got some pearls and away I went!

Here is the inside of the picture before it goes in the glass box.

So, for the little boy on the right bottom, this is his great, great, great grandma. I got paper that was brown with copper print on it.
Then, this would be his great, great grandma. The paper for this one was brown embossed in clear.
This is his great grandma, who I made the pictures for. Her frame is made in brown paper with the design embossed in fuzzy material.
This is his grandma who passed away...
This is his momma...
and this is Wyatt.
I put pearls around the base, and around each picture. I dare you find where they end and start!! :) It was a lot of fun to make. Here is the picture in its shadow box...

Christmas Cards

When I got my crop kit, there was the paper in there to make 4 easel cards. I had gotten another one so I had enough to make 8. But here is 6 of them. They come from a twelve by twelve sheet of paper that has four panels on them. You have probably seen them and if you are like me... I pass them by because I don't know what to do with them.

My friend came up with this design. Cool. Quick and easy. In my kit there was a cutout deer...
And a sheet of letters, that made it through all of the cards!
The sheet with letters also had stickers on it of snowflakes.
*the sled was my own sticker...
This was my favorite, but because the letters were red, we had to put white ink down first.
And that's it. It took about 10 minutes to make them all!

A late Halloween post...

I signed up to go to a scrapbook crop the other day. Unfortunately it got canceled. I was sooo bummed. But, we were going to do some projects at that crop, and she gave us our kits. So, I sat down and started working on them.

This is one of the projects. It is a cute halloween layout. But you know me... I don't follow directions well when it comes to art projects! :) So, here is the layout from the kit....

Art Class...

Well, here is another reason why I haven't been posting as much. I enrolled into school again. Just taking 6 credits... but they are killing me!! Not really, but it is taking up a lot of my time and I feel a little frazzled and haven't gotten into the swing of things yet.

I am taking one class up on campus. (Sign Language...more on that later...) and then this art class. I have never taken an art class, except for what you had to take in high school. So this is kinda new to me, and kinda hard too! Some of the mediums, I have never used. Some of the things we are doing, I have never done.

So,I thought I would show you some of the things...

(I accidently loaded the pictures backwards...so what I worked on last week is first...)

This is a sphere with shadow in ink. Never done ink before. Not sure that I like it, but it looks kinda cool.

Here's our value charts we made. (I made) For Graphite, Ink and Charcoal.

The week before, we had to draw a picture from life. I chose a gumball machine. We had to draw it as a construction picture, so you can see the point lines and where the other part might be. Like the gumball is round, not partially round...
This was the week before, we had to draw a picture using plum lines.... I chose this phone because we had phones like this as kids. I was the first one done with mine... then about 15 other phones followed mine. (there were 14 pictures to choose from...) There are about 35 in my class....
So that is some of what I have been doing instead of crafting!!!

My other class is sign language and she has us doing videos all the time... plus labs.. its a lot of work too...

I need to stamp! :)

Halloween Post!

When we were in SLC, I got to go to a scrapbooking store. (Mommy and me) and they had this table setting in the store. SOOOOO cute! So of course, I took pictures!

These are made out of the the little plastic sack tubes. The flowers were made of really stiff cardstock. Dies from the quickutz.
Then there was this banner on the table....Here's an up close for you!

So simple, yet so cute! Then there were these on the chairs!

Halloweenie Treat!

Everyone who knows me, knows that Halloween is my favorite holiday. Far and beyond!

Yesterday I went into this little cupcake shop, looking for a sugar cookie (my favorite cookie)((which they were out of)) and I saw a display with Halloween stuff on it.

There was this little sweet box sitting there.

When you turn her little handle, she plays the best spooky music! Who thought of this? I love you!
There was this cute Victorian poem on the back..
Better picture for you of the front. It fits in the palm of my hand. TOOO CUTE!!! So, instead of a sugar cookie, I bought her!

Just Add Cake

Good Morning! My son told me my blog has been boring lately. And its true. I will try to get back into the swing of things.

I made a bunch of these the other day. I call them, Just Add Cake. I went to an etsy shop the other day and found these cupcake liners? I bought a few, then went and bough my own die to make some myself. I found this idea for a cupcake box/holder from someone else's blog. So, I decided to combine the two, and add my own....

I redid the box part, and I added a candle to the side so they can have their own candle too. I tied a tag to the other corner, and I added the liner in the box. I made about 30 of them...

You can make two from a 12 by 12 sheet... so I used two colors and made 4, including tags.

New Recipe Binder

I received this Recipe Binder kit from ETM, it was for payment for something I did for her. I knew I wanted to make it, but unfortunately, I didn't want to make it the way the kit showed how. So I changed it up, Keersten Style!

So here is the front cover...

The back cover... the side is also done, in the floral print with a stipe of dots on it...
Inside are big folders to put your recipes or things off of the computer in. I didn't photo the tops of them, just where I decorated.

On the folders in front of them, for example, this Desserts page, the back of the preceding page has a strip of this blue and red dots across the packet so that they go together.

Errol Lenard Huntsman

Errol Lenard Huntsman. This is my dad. On Aug 4th he went into the hospital because of pain. 3 days later they decided to remove his gall bladder. My mom and I went to eat in the hospital cafeteria about 4 days after this. The doctor came into the lunch room and told my mom and I that the gall bladder was cancerous, that he was full of cancer and to take him home and enjoy him. It wasn't a good day.

Dad eventually got to go home. He was hopeful, but wasn't getting any better. He really hated not being able to get up. He wanted to go out to his garden, and do his lawn and work at his workbench.

We had a bad day one day, and so I went to stay at mom and dad's to help during the night if needed. I am very grateful for the time I got to stay there. I got to talk with dad and mom. I got to lay on the bed and watch tv with him at night a couple of times. I got to see all of his visitors too.

Saturday, Sept 17th, my mom came into my room at 5:00. My dad had just left us. I was the one to call my brothers.

I can't say enough about my dad. He was always there. He took such good care of my mom and us kids. Getting ready for the funeral, it is hard not to try to find dad and wonder what he thinks. He will be truly missed, and always in my heart.

Errol Lenard Huntsman, 71, of Idaho Falls, peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday September 17th at his home surrounded in the love of his family. He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Brother and Friend.

He was born Aug 20, 1940, to Lenard Glenore Huntsman and Evelyn Balmforth Huntsman in Idaho Falls. He was the 3^rd of 10 children. He grew up in the Idaho Falls, Shelley and Osgood areas where he attended schools and learned to be a hard worker.

He learned to drive a car at an early age and he remembers being close to 14, when he would get up early in the morning and drive in the dark from Osgood, to the dry farms on Taylor Hill. He would plow in those fields till dark, and drive home again.

He thoroughly enjoyed working with his hands and making things work. At the age of 16 he got a job at Automotive Electric. He loved working there so much, he bought the business. He worked there for 47 years.

On June 29^th, 1962, he married his sweetheart Myrna Ray, in the Idaho Falls Temple. They celebrated 49 years together this year. They have 3 children, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grand child who they completely enjoy.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He loved serving in many various callings throughout his life. He also served 6 years in the National Guard.

He enjoyed his family and friends very much and loved to go camping, hunting, hiking, fishing and riding motorbikes. He especially loved rock hunting and has rock hound grandchildren to prove it! He enjoyed making things grow, especially his garden and flowers.

He is survived by his wife, Myrna Huntsman of Idaho Falls, sons, Trent (Kathy) Huntsman of Shelley, Heston (Teri) Huntsman of Idaho Falls, daughter Keersten (David) Jensen of Idaho Falls, 10 grandchildren Brielle, Lynzi, Alyssa, Rachel, Ray, Jade, Hunter, Megan, Ashlen and Porter, and 1 great grand child, Xander. His brother’s Terry (Marge)Huntsman, Idaho Falls, Bowen (Merlyn)Huntsman Idaho Falls, Varcel (Tawnya)Huntsman, Idaho Falls, Dennis (Freen) Huntsman , Idaho Falls, sister’s Kay (David) Zorn, Idaho Falls, Rochelle (Garth) Campbell, Basalt, Debbie Penrod, San Antonio, Texas, Cindy (David)Cleaves, Pocatello, Heidi (Monte)Pittman, Boise, Idaho. He is preceded by his parents, Evelyn and Lenard Huntsman.

Viewing will be at Naulder Funeral Home in Shelley Tuesday the 20^th from 7 to 8:30. Graveside services will be at Fielding Memorial on Wednesday , Sept. 21, 2011 at 11:00.

School backpack

I made a little school backpack the other day! I have seen quite a few different ones of these and save the pictures of them. Too bad it doesn't save who made them! So, This is parts of some, parts of others and some of myself.

The colors are purple and blue. I know it looks pink, but that's my bad picture taking! The little lips are pink on the side.

Here's a side view. My kids backpacks all have a little mesh bag on the side, so I added one here too!

I got a pen, sticky note pad, teacher stickers, paperclips and two big clippies.
I just used eyelets for the snaps, there is Velcro under the tabs so it stays shut.

Chocolate Orange Cupcakes

At a time in my life where it seems everything just stinks. I found something to laugh at. Although he is not very happy about me laughing at his cupcakes, my son is a pretty good sport and his frosting try was really not to bad!

But I have to admit...it is pretty funny.

Butterfly punch

I was a hostess at a stamp party a while back. When I was hostess my demonstrator gave me a card I thought was really pretty. So I recreated it. I did it in the 4 different colors.

I used the embossing template for the background.
Each butterfly is punched out three times. Sorry you didn't get a side view of them.
For the pink card, there is a light pink butterfly, a darker pink and then the stamped blue one. They are all layered like that. Then I tied them with bakers twine and knotted the ends for the antenna.

Center Step Card Asian Floral

Morning!! This month has been a very hectic month for me. On the 4th, while I was at a stamp class, I got a phone call saying that my dad was in the hospital.

So, to make a long story short, he ended up having his gall bladder removed and they punctured his pancreas in the process. So he had pancreitis. Then, they came and told my mom and I in the lunchroom one day... that dad was full of cancer, take him home and enjoy him. (some doctors should be fired.)

We are unsure how much cancer there is, we do know for sure that his gall bladder was completely cancerous and perforated. We are heading to the Huntsman Center in Utah on Friday. Guess we go from there. We are all crossing our fingers that it was just the gall bladder. Because of the pancreitis, we didn't get to bring him home from the local hospital until the 18th! Such a long stay and he hated it all! His birthday was yesterday. Not a fun birthday. :(

So, while all that was going on (I was at the hospital every day) I did find time to make some cards to get some energy out! Here is one that I made for swaps for this month.

Its a center step card. You can find the instructions over at SplitCoastStampers. You can't tell from the photo, but I found shimmery pink cardstock and that is what I used for the base.

Treat Boxes!

I got a sizzix die from Stampin UP the other day. I love this die. It makes a bitty box and an envelope. But I just use the box side. I made these little boxes!

I got the idea over at Stampin Idaho (see sidebar) She made a little box that was a matchbox and cut out the lid. I thought, HEY! I can do that!

So, my boxes are different, and I used a cute little die I got for my birthday for the lid.

You can see the cutout of the lid better here. I used the flower die from SU too.... but for the lid, I used overhead transparencies. I cut them to size, then I embossed them using an embossing folder.
Here's a better view of the embossing. Then just used decorative papers for the sides and flowers! I filled them with Hershey's Drops. Cookies and Cream, and Chocolate.

Crystal Light Holders

My friend asked me to make her some holders that go on your water bottles. They hold a Crystal Light packet... or whatever kind of drink flavor you like! The top hole fits over your bottle cap and the packet goes into the pocket on the bottom.

So here is a close up of them.

3 x 3 Stampin Up card kits

Over at Timely Chunks, a crafty store, they asked me to make some items for a sidewalk sale.

So, I made a display with my dad and Hunter. We cut the wood and all. :) Then I spray painted it black and had my name printed in purple Vinyl.

I then made a whole bunch of little card kits to sell. There are six different kits, with 3 different cards in them, for a total of 18 different cards if you bought them all.

SO, I went to all this trouble of making kits, and the dang lady didn't even have the sidewalk sale. So... I have a lot of kits for sale... anyone interested?

Shot Cups

Shot cups. You know, the ones you buy at the dollar store? Or the party store? You make jello shots in them... Well, I bought some, there is a picture down the post if you don't know what I am talking about. I have had them for almost 6 months trying to figure out what to do with them!

Then one night (why is it that nighttime is the creative time?) I figured it out what to do. I have a hippo chalkboard on my wall, and I got up and drew a picture of what I wanted it to look like.

SO here is a pile of them!

Here is a single one. The liner actually fits all the way to the bottom of the cup so that you can't see the white. I put white liners in them to showcase the colors of the cups. (because they don't make clear ones!)

Here is what my liner looks like before I put it in the cup. You fold the tabs down and put the circle punch over the top to make it solid. I filled the cups with Hershey's Kisses. You can fit 3 in a shot glass.
So here is more of them! They are made with 2 inch round punch, and 6 scallop round punches made into carnations. My kids said they look like little flowerpots. I was going for cupcakes...but I'll take flowerpots!

What was I thinking???

Sometimes I just don't know how to say no. I don't know why this is. My mom used to tell me every day, that 95% of my problems I create myself. Its my motto.

I created this problem. I couldn't say no. See all the newspaper. It covers almost every inch of my garage. Almost.

There are a few little spaces where there is no newspaper.
Because of this!
He looks like a basset. He is definitely NOT a basset. He is a wiener dog. Because I can't spell daushound. He has basset markings though. He is really cute. But even with all of that newspaper, he found the littlest slivers where there wasn't any to do his business. I am only dog sitting him. His name is Bandit. I have him for 12 days. He howls at night. Pitiful. Poor doggie. But I am definitely tired of cleaning up after him!!

Only 9 more days....

Bottle Caps!

Bottle caps are one of my favorite things! I have lots of favorite things, I know, but that is what makes life grand! I found a bunch of tins in my drawer the other day. (imagine that...) So I have have them sitting on the heater wondering what to do with them.

I mean, really, everyday I think what should I do with them.
Then one night, just as I was about to fall to sleep. I had an idea!! Bottlecaps!!See how tiny and cute these little buggers are? I call them Oreo Savers. They are just big enough to store an oreo in. (If you ever store them, at my house they are gone as soon as I get home from the store... in which case, they could be gumball savers?)
I have a whole bunch of beads in crates. From when I went through a bead frenzie. So, two birds, I used them! They are glass seed beads and there are 2 different colors in each cap.
I used crystal effects to make them stay and give them even more shine. The flower petals are from the Stampin UP! flower punch.

Get Well Card

I got this really pretty stamp set from SU. I am getting tired of decorated paper, I wanted to use my stamps! So, I stamped my own background, sponged color every where. Then they have this stuff called Smooch. Its a spray that sprays pearl powder on your papers. So I sprayed white and brown over it.

I popped up the bird, the birdhouse and tied it with a ribbon. Punched a tiny tag and tied it with bakers twine. Inside it says, Get Well.

Whoopie Pies!

Reading the newspaper at my mum's on Sunday, I came across this page in the "Parade". Who doesn't love Whoopie Pies? So I thought I would make some.

The batter is really fluffy, not like cookie dough, not like cake batter, somewhere in between.

Here's the little mounds... you just use your tablespoon size ice cream scoop...
When they bake, they come out like this...
You make the filling with shortening, vanilla, powdered sugar and marshmellow cream. Fattening!!!
But you always have to take a bite!

Tins with cards

I found some little tins the other day. (Christmas time) and I thought, those would be so fun to decorate. So, I found this paper, I had to have. I don't know why I like it so much, but I really do! So I covered the tins, wrapped ribbons around the edges, put a little on the top...

Inside, I made a set of 4 cards. Each one is different. Each one has a hanging tag on it though, but different sayings.
I know its summer time and things get busy. I am super busy making things. (I just did 50 treat boxes for the Walk for Life that was just held. Forgot to take a picture of them...:( ) So sorry if the posting is slow, but eventually I will get back to you!

Clear Stamp Case Organizer

I went to stamp club the other night. We made these little Clear Stamp Case Organizers. They are so cute! Here is the ones we made. You decorate the outside of the case. It fits between the clear cover.

When you open them up, here is the left side.
Here is the bottom. Pen fits, pocket piece and post it notes.

June Recipes for ETM

This month for Express the Moment, we did recipes from Cafe Rio. The other gal who designs too, did them from there too. So here is the first one... Pulled Pork, we made it the other day, but I forgot to take a picture for you! And it was all gone in a day, so sorry....

Cupcakes for Abbie and Maddie

I got a call the other night from two little girls. Aunt Keersten, could you make us the hamburger and fries cupcakes for the last day of school? What can you do? You make them for them. Here is what they are talking about.

So first you make cupcakes, slice them in half, and insert a brownie. That's the meat!
Add a little lettuce...

Ketchup....
mustard....
And tops complete with sesame seeds.
Put them in a carrier, add sugar cookie fries, and a container of strawberry jam for the ketchup! How does 50 of them sound to you???

Stationary Set

It was my mom's birthday on Friday. I made her this stationary set. I got the pattern for it from Inking Idaho. I had to tweak the pattern a little, awesome instructions, but the measurements were off a bit. I got it though! They just had new carpet put in the house and everything is green and purple! So I got to use my favorite color! Here is the whole package...

Side view. I kinda made this wrong, the folds should be on the outside, not the inside, but I didn't know that until after I tacky taped it. No undoing that stuff!

Photo Wallets

My friend Joani sent me a little gift one day. It was a couple of years back and I had it my 'to case' file. It was so cute. So, little modifications, and I made some too! Here are three of them...

When you undo the tie and open it up, there are two little pull out places for photo's.
Room for 6 photos on each side.
Here's 4 more of them. They when they fold out, are 10 inches long, they are bout 4 inches folded.

May Recipes

These are my recipes for May. I will post the others another day. This one was fun to make with all of the stars and circles. Plus, my kids like the casserole!

Here's the second, its Lavender Lemonade. I recently learned an easier way to make it though. You still need to steep the buds for the syrup, but instead of making lemonade the hard way and squirting yourself with lemons, you can use Country Time Lemonade. Easy Peasy!!!
Here is what it looks like when you seep the lavender buds. Then you strain them.
I strained mine into a quart jar. The liquid is kinda purplish. More brownish really. I thought it would taste like medicine or soap... but it doesn't! Give it a try!

Couple more cute little purses...

I made a couple of more little gift purses the other day. So here they are...

You know when you fold paper into a wedge and if you put so many of those wedges together it makes that cake? I think that this is how the wedges are made. Not sure though, but you can put them together to make the cake!

For these, I used velcro as a fastener. I love velcro. One of the best inventions!
When you open up the purse, you get this pocket....

Happy Mother's Day out there to all you women, who are moms, or mom's at heart. I remember how mother's day was for me, when I was struggling with infertility. It especially broke my heart one MD Sunday, when a little girl came and sat on my lap and asked me why I wasn't a mommy yet. So, I wish each woman out there, a lovely day!

Here is something that I made for my mom. I made her a sort of cake plate, and this is the card that we made at SU club.

Recipe Book

I made another recipe book, that has folders in it, so you can put the recipes you get off of the internet in them, or loose ones you have around. There is also room to put ones in pages.

So here is the cover....I tried to use the white ruffle throughout all the pages too.

I found my stash of 'skittles' and used them on the pages too...
Skittles are the round shiny centers, kinda like a gel or a hot glue dot. They come in all sorts of colors.

I thought the colors were bright and cheerful... its from my favorite line, My Mind's Eye.

Also, I got new Nestabilities for my birthday and put some of them to use on the pages.
This cut out was my favorite. I love the circle ends!

Bubble Wands

Bubble Wands! Its spring, so I thought I would do something fun! You can get bubble wands from the Wedding Aisles at any box, or craft store... I got some, and made these little holders for them.

Here's a close up. Pretty simple, and pretty cute! I punched the bottom trim. Punched the butterflies, inked them up. The butterfly has a "skittle" for its center. I punched holes in the whole thing, and tied it off with a organdy ribbon. The white tag behind? Its a book mark!

I made a bunch of these that I sold at a craft fair in December. They are really fun to make, and the fact that you can use them for many things, is a good thing! My girlfriend came up from Texas and I made her one. This is it.

She loves pink....

Here's the insides....I got thinking about it, you could make a baby one and have it for weight gains, meds they take, foods they eat, emergency contacts...
I didn't put tabs in her's, because she doesn't do a lot of recipes...but I did use Skittles, on the top of the design. Those things are so fun, they are clear gel-like little centers. They come in all sorts of colors. These are light pink.

Bottle Caps

Bottle Caps! I don't know why we love them. I love them. There is just something about bottle caps that is neat. I collected them as a kid. I have some stashed away in a drawer from dates with boys, I saved the bottle cap. One day we were out junkin, and I found an old glass bottle, filled with bottle caps! Coke ones, Pepsi ones, Root beer...all intact, AND with the corks still inside of them. My mom says as a kid, they used to take the cork out, and put it under their shirts, put the cap on top and pop the cork back in, presto, a neat bottle cap pin to wear!

I just love the dang things. So, I though, hmmmm, bottle cap jewelry? Yep. So I made a few of them... just about 100!!

Here is Cookie! You have to love the cookie monster! (sorry my pic is not clear...not a camera wiz!)

I made key chains.... I used the resin, and my beads... and that old internet find that I had to have almost 11 years ago! It was actually my first ebay win. I won't tell you what it was, that is still my secret!

Sesame Street was my fav show as a kid. Oscar & Snuffie were my favorite characters. Too bad I couldn't find a small Snuffie!!
but I did find this Zebra...I used some charms and things. I think the necklace turned out pretty well! I made quite a few... they are addicting!

Recipe Book & Yellowstone

I made some recipe binders the other day. Here is one that I will share with you! It is bright and cheery! (or berry and cherry!) It is 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 inside.... The cover is 8 3/4 by 7... Anyways, the binder itself is a bright green.

So here is the cover...

I will show you the dividers...each one has a tab on the side to help find them, behind them is a double folder so you can put recipes you copy off the internet or friends give them to you. The tabs are the tops of shipping tags, there are shipping tags in the design...Soups and salads...

desserts...Here is what the double folders look like. This is the back of one, the front of it is the same, so pretty big pockets. Plus, if you wanted you could use the page protectors and put recipes in that way too...
So, while I was home making the book, Hubby went to Yellowstone National Park with his sister. There is still a lot of snow there! Check it out!

Wallets!!

Sorry for the delay in posting. But sometimes the things you are working on take a while to finish! So, really, I have been busy. I have been making some more address wallets. It was fun this time because I had made them before, so it went a little faster.

Here is the pile of them!

I made 24 of them, and I am going to show you all of them!! What do you ask happened to the other 15 I made? I sold them! Can you believe it? All in one night! I had some ladies ask me for some more, so that is why I made a bunch more....

And here's the last of them.... I think my favorites are the cherry ones, and one of the striped ones with a blue ribbon. Of course I like a yellow one, a red one, and a purple one too....

Little Purses

I was in a card swap the other day and the lady who hosted, sent a little gift in a little box like bag. It was really cute, so I did some modifications and came up with these little purses!

This is the backs of the purses, I secured the opening flap with eyelets.

Here's the back of my favorite purse, it kinda looks oriental to me. I love the oriental look.

Teacher Appreciation Week Treats Day 3 & 4

These are my day 3 & 4 for Teacher Appreciation week. This one is a packet, the front and the back of it. Inside the packet, is a pack of Stride Gum.

This is the last project. The goodies are not inside yet, but it will have a Mounds, Peppermint pattie, Kit Kat, Starburst and Laffy Taffy in them when they are packed.
These might look like they were the easiest ones to make for the week. Unfortunately, my computer skills are significantly less than my 14 year old's. So, it took me a couple of days to figure out how to format them on Word. But I did it!!!

English Muffin Post

Ok, so previous post was my recipe for English Muffins. I thought I better give you the picture of what they look like. Some of my friends didn't believe that you cook them in a frying pan!

So here are 4 muffins in my frying pan. This is after they have risen for 30 minutes. They don't rise very big, but they will in the pan!

So here is a couple of muffins cooked, a couple waiting to be cooked, and then there is one cut open so you can see what they look like inside. They are very fluffy and "hole-y" like a good English Muffin should be!
Here is the batch finished, minus the ones I ate!! I got 22 out of my batch of dough.

April Recipes

I got my April Recipes for ETM. So here they are for you!

The first is English Muffins. I've noticed everyone is making them, they are all over the place, so I put together a few recipes and came up with this one! I will show you pictures of them later, don't have them downloaded yet, but here is the recipe!

My second recipe is Snicker Salad. My friend Georgia gave me this recipe to put in the kits. Its a really fun salad too! My friend Jeanine borrowed me her butterfly punch. I can't believe how well it matched the butterfly paper!

Faux Quilting Cards

I saw a tutorial over at SCS a while back. It looked pretty simple and kinda fun. So I copied the page and kept it in my file of things to try. It was called Paper Quilt.

Well, I got bored working on my Teacher Appreciation items, so I thought I would make my cards for my swap I participate in every month. I thought it would be a good time to use that pattern!

What paper to use?

Well, I get a scapbooking kit every month from ETM. The place I make recipe cards for. I thought it might be about time I used one of them! So for the month of March, they had these papers in the kit. So here are my cards I made, using only things from my kit. (The ribbon was extra, because I needed a bit more than what the kit came with)

So, I cut the designer paper in 3/4 inch blocks. I used two pattern papers. The red dot, and the green floral print. Then I cut 3 solid papers in 3/4 inch blocks. I used vanilla, red and blue. All of the paper came from the kit, even the cards the blocks are put on.

Once the blocks are put in the pattern, you adhere them all down. I just put them on scrap paper. Then the fun part. Get your Cuttlebug out (or your big shot...whatever you have) and you take some embossing plates and run them through embossing them. It makes them look like they are quilted!
Here are my last 2 cards, I made 8 for swap, and all 8 cards are made from the same papers, but all of them have different designs!

Candy Wrapper Die from Stampin' UP!

Ok, so first, this is a bite of our chocolate peanut butter cupcakes! Had to show you that!

Here is a bunch of them. Had fun making them, and the peanut butter frosting, is worth eating by itself!
So, I got asked to do a table decoration for a get together at church the other night. I wanted to use my new Candy Wrapper Die from SU. Only I couldn't figure out how to make the ends close, so I wrote to my friends at LNS, and they helped me out! SO I made a little pile of them for treats for each seat. Purple of course!
Here is my table, er, part of it. I went and got metallic balloons, and dark purple helium ones, and had them floating out of the top of the centerpiece. I also had purple glasses, and silverware. I just didn't get a picture of it when I finished. :(
Here is a close up of my fishbowl! It has streamers, presents, candy wrappers with candy inside, blowers, balloons and hats!
Can see a little better here maybe!
Anyways, I think it turned out ok, and the ladies loved their little candy treats!

A few more Wallet Address Books

I thought I would show you a few more of the wallet address books I was making. And maybe run it down for you how to make them.

1. Punch out a top note die cut. I emboss mine with embossing folders.

2. Cut the main body of the address book. It is 3 3/4 by 8 1/2.

3. Score the main body at 5 3/4 and 5 1/4. This is the center of the wallet.

4. Take strong adhesive and after folding top note in half chubby wise, adhere 1/2 of top note to the wallet.

5. Cut coordinating designer paper to 3 1/2 by 5 inches. The smaller designer paper on the front measures 2 1/2 by 4 inches. Adhere them to the front of the wallet, where the top note will fold over on.

6. On the inside, I took a 5 1/2 by 3 inch cello bag. (from Stampin UP!) I cut it in half, well sort of, I cut the closed end to 2 inches. The other piece of bag, I glued the bottom of it, then folded it over and glued it to make another little bag 2 1/2 inches long.

7. Run both little bags through your xyron to put adhesive completely on the backs.

8. Cut a one of the designer papers in two pieces, 3 by 2 1/2, and 3 by 3. Fold each of them down 1/2 inch. These are going to go into the little bags.

9. Put adhesive on the backs of the small designer papers, and place them in the bags. Peal off the xyron backing, and place in your wallet on one side. (in my photo, I used cardstock, but found that the designer paper lays flatter.)

10. Glue your mini notebook, (or sticky notes) to the other side of the wallet.

11. Cut a piece of cardstock the same color as your wallet, about 1 inch wide, and 2 inches long. Score it every 1/2 inch. Fold it so that it makes a little opening you can place your pen, and glue it inside the wallet next to the center fold.

12. Decorate the top of your wallet. I used the scallop punch, the big floral punch and some rings I found at walmart that I cut the finger hold off, sanded and glued on. My leaves are all from the SU blossom punch.

13. Take a small piece of velcro and where the top note folds down, attach it so that it will stay closed.

14. On the center of the wallet, punch two holes, and place grommets in them. Tie a ribbon to finish.

Address Wallets

A while back, my friend Joani sent me a cute little wallet she made. I loved it. I thought I could make some, but make them different than hers. So here is my version. I did an address wallet!

This is what it looks like on the outside.

Here's closer up of the front of it. I used the top note for the flap. Different punches for the design. It is closed with a velcro tab.
When you open it, on the one side, is a gel pen, and a miniature tablet.
On the other side, there is a little cello bag, you put stamps in the one bag.

And address labels in the other bag.

I made these because I am always mailing things to people, and I can never find my stamps, and I never have any address labels and am always having to write them long hand. (gasp!:)) I thought it would be handy!

5 Generation Picture

My BF's mom asked me if I would scrapbook some pictures for her last summer. I said sure, because I sometimes take peoples pictures and scrapbook them for them. So, that is what I was expecting. She said she'd get them to me. Well, about a month later, she brings me a packet, Here she says.

I not knowing what was in the package, said, well, do you want them on 8 1/2 by 11 or 12 by 12's? She said, I don't know. You just do what you think is best. That's when I looked in the packet and saw just 6 pictures! I was like, um. What exactly is it you want me to do?

She said, well, I had in mind you could scrapbook a generation picture for me.

OH.

Ok. I guess I know what to do now!

So here is what I came up with. I bought silk cording and went all around the inside of a shadow box that I bought. The inside is black fabric. The frame is cherry wood. Then I made a template for the size of photo's I wanted.

Sorry for the quality of the photos, but is hard taking them through glass! To get the photos to stick to the fabric, I mounted them all on Velcro. Lucky I did too, because the first time around, I put them all upside down!! Then I hot glued the silk rope, and all the buttons.

She was pretty pleased with it when I took it to her. She started to cry. Then she just sat and looked at it for a while. After I told her the damages... ($$$) She asked me if I would make another one for a granddaughter of her's, using several different pictures!!!

I was pretty excited too!

Something funny that happened, I resized, touched up, re colored etc. the pictures. My printer kept elongating them, so I went to Walmart to print them. They made me sign a release saying I was the photographer for the first two pictures!! Saying they were copyrighted because they could tell from the background. I said I would, because the first two are pictures, of pictures, plus I redid them. I thought it was funny though. The first one is over 120 years old. I said, I feel pretty good being this old! They said, yeah, your moisturizer is fabulous!

Three new recipes...

I have three new recipes for you. Its been a weird couple of weeks!! My computer has some rare problem that no one can figure out. Hmm. Well, at least the internet is working right?? For that I am grateful!

So here is the first one, it is one that I "redid" from my friend who designs recipes too. Its for Tortellini Soup. I haven't tried it yet, but am going to!

This next one is also from her that I 'redid'. I liked the laceup thing. So I am going to have to figure out a recipe for sale that has that.
This is the last one. I didn't 'redo' this one. Least I don't think I did! :) It was printed on vellum, and placed over the flowers. I re-wrote all of the recipe with my marker so you could read the recipe because mine was really faded. Then I outlined, dotted and checked the flowers in the back so that you could see them better on the vellum.

At the scrapbook crop the other day, we recieved a scrapbook page kit. It was pink and blue and we were suppost to mount everything to this black cardstock. I hate that. I mean, that is bad, but why waste a piece of cardstock?? SO, I took the kit, and as usual, made it my own.

March Recipes!

Here is March Recipes! This first one is for Mexican Crockpot Chicken. It is soooo good. I love it. I make it all the time. Sorry the picture got put on the top. I haven't really figured the editing stuff with this yet. I am just glad that the picture got put on! I made mine into enchiladas. It has already come out of the crockpot! You can copy the picture to put on the back of your recipe!

For the page, I punched out the three butterflies and embossed them with cherry blossoms, words, and polka dots. I got teal rick rack and put it all together.

This second recipe is for Parmesan Bacon Peas. It is really English Peas, with bacon added. Everything is better with bacon right?? These so are!! I got a new die with a cute nest and eggs. Then I found a die with the bird. I think they look ok together. Then, when I had my SU party, I got a free punch of the bird and branch. So I punched out the branch to put under the nest.
Green for St. Patrick's Day!!

Card from Jeanine (BLiSS)

My friend Jeanine has a Stampin UP group. I go to it monthly since I quit my SU business. (12 stinkin years!!) Anyways, I was the hostess the other day, and this is the card she made me for being the hostess.
It is made with the saleabration set, BLISS. I really like this card!
I would show you the cards that we made that night, but I had a friend who ordered on my party and she lives in Florida. So when I sent her, her package, I loaded my cards into for her. I forgot to take a picture. :( They were really neat, you will just have to take my word for it!

Card Swaps

I went to a scrapbook crop the other day. All day. And while I was there, I made some cards for a swap I am in. Here is the first one I did, its for a monkey swap.
This one is for my hippo swap. I know, same hippo, but she is soooo cute! I gathered ribbon on the side for fun.

This is for the dog swap. Don't you just love the woofie snoopies!!!

This is for the reptile swap. I have a bunch of alcohol inks and they are evaporating. Imagine that. So, I thought I would use some. The picture doesn't do it really well, but the chipboard is all covered in the alcohol ink.

Soooo Non-stamping related!!

Ok, so I have something to share, but it is not stamping related at all! You see, it has to do with my couch. Yep, my beloved couch. Here is a picture of my poor worn out "little" thing. Only, she's not so little. My couch was over 10 feet long. They don't make them like that anymore. She was also very sturdy, but, alas, over 42 years that I know of, kids jumping over, using cushions for play houses, she just kinda is wearing out.
See the fraying on the seats? See the tops of all the back pillows? She had a very good life. She was once my parents. Then, they got a new couch set, and like that, I got my first matching couch ever! My couch came from the DI, for 5 dollars, and I was very, very happy to see that thing go. (It was orange!) This girl here, had a sister. We lost her in a flood though. :( So.
My parents were thinking about a new couch set....
Hubby said, OH NO! I am not getting another hand me down couch. (He really loves this one... he spends a lot of nights on it. hee, hee)
So, off we went to the couch store. Mind you, we've been doing this for over 3 years. We just cannot agree on a couch. He wants leather, I wanted quilted. Dang. So, in we go.
They had this one there. I knew Hubby loved it. Me, not so much. I really had my heart set on the quilted yellow floral print, but I knew that wasn't ever gonna happen in this lifetime. SO... I did the unthinkable. I actually agreed with my Hubby on something! (imagine!) We got to bring him home. He's chocolate and carmel leather, and the pillows are green paisley. OK!!

Look. He even had a little brother!!

This is my first NEW couch set since I have been married. (that 18 1/2years for you who don't know...) So, I am very excited. It fits the house perfectly!

I called my parents to tell them. Mom says, what have you been doing? I said, Oh, just moving furniture. Mom say, Keers, remember what you told me is wrong with people who move furniture all the time? I said, Yep. They are sexually frustrated. But mom I say. This is new furniture. She started screaming in my ear! Yep, happy day. Then she starts giggling, your husband she says, he really didn't want our old couch did he! :)

Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day! I thought I would share my flowers with you!! My hubby found me purple Daisies! Plus, don't forget my carnations. Love them carnations.
Then, I made this layout of my two sons. I started with a 6 X 6. It is one I got to do at scrapbook class, we modified it a bit by changing papers and things, for the crop. Then, I made another one of them and turned it upside down and put them both on a 12 X 12.

Love Potion No. 9

Over at ETM, we are having a crop on Sat. 19th. I am excited for this crop, because I got to design one of the projects we are doing!
You know I love little bottles, and so, I made a double bottle holder, with the Love Potion no. 9!
Here is the one that we will be doing at the crop.
Here was my prototype! This one has SU papers, as I didn't have my papers from ETM yet. So I had to make due! Anyways, I think that they both turned out pretty cute!

Military Chipboard Albums

Well, I got to busy the other day, and made some Military Albums. They are chipboard, that I covered with Stampin UP and Bazzil textured paper. I tied them together with Military blousing. I had no idea what that was. But I was in the Army Surplus store the other day and looking through all the little fun things they had, and there was these blousing things.
The lady at the store said they are for holding the pants down around the boots. You know how you always see the soldiers have the bloused out pants at the boot. Now I know why!
Plus, while I was there, I found some military Dog Tags. Thought that would go well on there too...

Stamp Class Share

I got to go to stamp class the other night. I thought I would share the cards and things we made.

This is the first, its a tag card, we stamped on designer paper, then used a blender pen and chalks to color in the flowers.

Here's the goodie card. I kinda rearranged mine a little. I love the bright cheery colors.

Here is the 6 X 6 page that we made. We made it for Valentines of course! We used the triple heart punch.

Well, its February, time for the ETM recipes!! For my first one, I did Strawberry Frappe. Here is a picture of the finished product. (Although, I have to say, I added a handful of blueberries to this batch, so it is a little darker in color than yours will be if you make it.)

Personal Recipe Album

I needed a new recipe album for the recipes I design for ETM. I thought that I would make one of my own, with one of my favorite colors. I found the papers at Michaels. They are Bohemia from My Mind's Eye and two papers from Anna Griffin. All the pages matched so well, I was so excited. One of my favorite colors is Red. (Purple being the "most" favorite) but red is the color of my kitchen. So, have a look!

Here is the outside cover. The papers had a sea blue through them, so I used it as the accent.

The album is 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches.

here is the side view...all books must look good from the spine!

Here are what my tabs look like, and they are the same on both sides. I attached them to the protector. I used a hinge punch and a circle punch.

So here is the appetizer page. I gathered my ribbon right on the page.

My next page. I loved that one of the Anna Griffin papers had botanical all over them. So I cut most of them out for accents on the page. This one has a butterfly.

This one has a Lilly for an accent, but the page behind, also has one! I gathered the ribbon on this page too, but the ribbon was crinkly ribbon.

here is for sides. This was probably my least favorite paper. Big funky flowers, and lots more blue than I wanted, but I think it turned out ok.

This is the last page, desserts. I gathered ribbon on it too. I really liked the jumbo sunflower.

January Recipes

Happy New Year!!! I am starting out the new year by showing you my recipes for the month, plus a picture of what they look like cooked!!

My first is Stuffed French Toast. I made up this recipe, and we had it for Christmas Breakfast...and a couple days before too, so that I could get it right!

This is a picture of the second recipe. It is Raspberry salad. I made it a couple of times over the break too, only I didn't make up the recipe myself. I got it from a friend. (Hey Georgia!) I think that she blended it in a blender, but I just whisked mine together. Its very pretty, and we all voted on no whip cream, we liked it a little tart!

So, here is the layout for it. I had to use some purple. Kim over at ETM, had a pack of purple that finally came in, (I am pretty sure, purple is Not, her thing) but it is mine, so I was very happy to do a purple layout!!

These two layouts are from December, they were the other designer's recipes. I of course, changed them. You can see her layout HERE. But this is my redo. I think that it is kinda fun redoing things to make them more my style. This one, I even changed the color. She had a blue to match the blue flower in the print. But you know, I love purple!

This one was really cute too, I really liked the stocking made with this paper. It would be a hard paper to use and the stocking worked great for it.

New Recipe Binder

I needed a new recipe binder. So I got playing around and here is what I come up with. Only, this is just for Desserts! So, I will have to make another one for other recipes! So here goes! This is the cover.. I got my paper over at ETM. It was the Hot Chocolate style. It came with the sticker letters and the cardstock stickers too...

Here is the first divider, it is for Cakes...it has a tab on the side, but the tab stays with the protective cover...

The next divider is for Cookies. I tried to do the folded paper theme on all of the pages. It kinda looks like ribbon. Then, it was having a hard time sticking to the paper, so I got out my sewing machine...

This divider is for Pies... me and my sewing machine go way back. It is a singer, it only does the straight stitch it is soooo old. I was ancient when I received it for Christmas when I was 10! It is blue, metal and weighs close to 30 pounds or more. She is one heavy girl!

This is for Candy....my poor sewing machine, it made creaks and groans, and needs oiled very, very badly. There were times when it wouldn't even put the needle down. I feel bad for it. But I learned something. You shouldn't tape/glue and sew. It gums up the needle and breaks the thread. Or, you should use wax thread...:)

Last divider is for Other, like puddings and such... Don't fret too much over my poor sewing machine. I will take care of her. Maybe instead of sewing coats and Levi, she will be devoted to paper now!

I'm behind! I made recipes for ETM, for the month of December, and I forgot to show them to you! I haven't even taken pictures of the other ones yet! (I'll get on it!)

So here is the first one, Pear Streusel Muffins.

And my second one is Pomegranate Salad. Really strange, but the family loves it! We have been getting fruit and vegetables from Bountiful Baskets and we have been getting quite a few pomegranates in the baskets, so this is a great way to use them, plus its just that time of year!

My Craft Booth

Remember I did my craft fair on the 11th? Well, here is what it looked like and what I did.

This was in front of the left hand side. I put odds and ends in there that I was selling, like stamp sets and things.

Here is the back wall, I had this to show the albums I can make. I didn't have time to make up albums to sell, so I took orders. I got one order.

Here are my gift card holders. You can put a gift card in the center of them in the little holder part.

My organizers... I sold 5 of them...

Pretzel sticks

Scooby Doo bones! Covered in carmel and chocolate!

The snowman poop and reindeer poop. The reindeer poop all sold out, 3 left of the snowman. I took 10 of each kind.

York Patties in a bag, and single mint sandwiches. The York patties sold out...

Wassail in a tube, and water with flavor packets... I sold several waters, but everyone had bottled water, weird I know!! I have about 5 tubes of wassail left too.

Here are my cake balls! I did three flavors, but they sat me next to a candy booth, and then the first booth when you came in was a baked goods booth for the local cheerleaders...

My milk cartons and hot chocolate tubes. The mint sold out, the peppermint have 2 left. I took 10 each of them also.

So that is what my booth looked like. It was fun to do, I just wish that there had been more people there, there was no advertising, so only the community there came. So I did really well considering!!!

BF Gifts

Each year I make something for my BF. This year I signed up to make a wall plaque for her. When it came, it was not what I ordered. I was really mad. Really mad. So hubby said, go and order it yourself (someone else had did the ordering the first time...) So I did. Luckily, she has a mother in law, and so I made the first one for her mil. This one on top, is for my friend. Her living room is green and purple, the vinyl is purple!

This is the one that I didn't like. I made it for the mil... Its nice, but not the writing I wanted. It turned out pretty nice though!

Then, I tried to learn to make something new. She has twin girls, so I was going to make some hair bows for them. I tried to make these, but I think that they look a lot like cow pies....:) However, the one little girl was very pleased with them and squealed when she saw them, so cow pie or not, they were well liked!!

I got my things done for the craft fair, I will have to show you and tell you all about it. but not today, I still have a headache!!!

Milk Carton Madness!

So I got this brilliant idea to make little milk carton caddies, with hot chocolate and marshmallows for my neighbors. Well, my BF wanted some for her neighbors too, and my friend over at ETM wanted a couple too, So I set out to make some. I needed to make 50!

So, here is the finished!

Here's the little cartons up close. I stapled the tops shut. Then I saw a lady took hers and made the bottoms to open. Too cool. also , too late. Mine are stapled.

Craft Fair share!

Three new things to show you that I have been working on for the craft fair.

The first one is this test tube of hot chocolate. Some are Mint and some are Peppermint.

Then I made these little sacks of York Peppermint Patties that everyone has been doing lately....

I didn't know getting ready for a craft fair would be such a chore!! I wish I had known about it earlier, or that I had had the will to say "no." But, I didn't, and so I didn't have the chance to make things all year for it, I think that that would be the way to go, doing it slowly all year!!
I got to go to a stamp class last night! We did a card swap and I can't wait to show you what I got, but it might take me a while to get to the pictures!

Things I've been working on... recipe/ monthly organizers

Here's a couple of the things I've been working on. They are recipe or monthly organizers. Here is a couple of them, this one is mint and chocolate.

Here's the inside. They are 6 by 6, and you open them up. Inside is these pockets. When it is closed, if the ribbon is a thick one like this one, I close them with Velcro. If it is a skinny ribbon, I close it by tying it in a bow on the side.

See how the pockets fold out? They are made from envelopes. Cool huh! I have tab dividers too, that match that will go with them.

Here's the hot pink/green inside. I made 10 of these for the craft fair.

Christmas Cards!

I've been busy. Really busy. I've been doing things for a craft fair. In the meantime, I've had a lot of Christmas cards to make for people. So I thought I would show you them, just cause!

Here are the first ones. I got the pattern from someone on line, and I am sorry to say that I don't know who it was to give the credit to. (sorry!)

here is the second batch, I used my cuttlebug for the embossed backgrounds. I used that flower fluff stuff for the tip of the hat.

Christmas projects

I got a couple projects from the crop at ETM. Here is one of the projects. Most people finished theirs there, but I took mine home to add some color to the edges and things. We made the wires and everything! I always wondered where to buy them, now I know how to make them!

To make the wire holder, you need wire, and a glue stick! You cut a length of wire, wrap it around the glue stick 3 times, then twist the wires to make the handles. I am going to make 2 more of these, a blue one and a green one...maybe green and purple... :)

So here is the wreath finished. I added quite a bit more ribbon to it and made it lots fluffier...

Reindeer Food

I went to stamp group the other day. Had such a fun time. We made two cards and a scrapbook page. You will love her creations! Here is the first one. It makes you want Christmas here so you can send it to someone!

Then we made this bright happy card! I love the colors, and she used that set again. I swear, I will have to buy it just from envy!

Then we made these cute scrapbook pages. Her page was different and I really liked it, so I wanted to do a two page layout with them. So I changed my page a little bit from hers. This one is mine. The thing I forgot was, we were only making one page, so now I really do have to buy a set so I can make the other page! (Oh, dang!) ;) When I get it made or have a picture taken of hers, I will show you how cute they go together!

You wish you were in my stamp group huh!

Cherries and Cakeballs

I saw this cute set of stamps the other day from CTMH. They were a workshop set, you had to buy them with the workshop materials. I didn't want all that. So I went looking, and of course, if you are looking, you will find! So, I got my set, called Bowl of Cherries. There are 3 different mixing bowls! How could I pass that up??

So two of my neighbors were having a birthday, I made them a Cherry Card.

And then, because it was their birthday, they must have cake! So, I made some red velvet cake balls. Gotta love cake balls!! My kids freaked out. They love them too. I didn't put them on sticks or anything, I didn't even do anything fancy, just dipped them and let them settle on the sheet. My chocolate fiend child, said that he thinks he has a new favorite over chocolate, chocolate, chocolate cake balls. My red velvet ones! Silly boy.

Here's hoping you have a friend who takes cake balls to you!

Thanksgiving time...

Thanksgiving time is always a great time for me. I love the falling leaves everywhere. I joined in a card swap, and these are the cards I made for November.

I used the Branches Set from SU. I made an easel card.

The inside is about Abundance. Its what we are thankful for most at this time of year. The abundance of anything that we have, and the hope for abundance of other things. I thought it appropriate for the abundance of leaves, and then I think how angry my kids and hubby get when they have to rake them off of the yard, and how amidst all of the leaves, I see the rainbow they make, and even if I am raking, how they make me smile.

More Nov. Recipes

Here are the other two recipes from ETM, for the November kits. These two are recipes from another designer, however, I took the kits and made them my own. If you would like to see her layouts, please go HERE.

So here is my versions!! This is Waffle Iron Banana Bread. You make it in a waffle iron!! No Joke! And its good too! I made it Saturday night for my family. It made enough for everyone to be pigs and then some!

I used pinking sheers for the cuts, and then I used the hemp and made a criss-cross where they two strips met. Then I punched holes in the side of the recipe and wound the hemp around the side for a fun decorative thing.

Here's my take on the Easy Cheese Bread. I have this recipe too, but just don't use it very often, I forget I have it. I took my ribbon and instead of going across the recipe, horizontal way, I made mine a vertical recipe and tied the ribbon to the title. I had a bit left over, so half of that went to the bottom to make a decoration there too. Not sure if I like that bottom part, but I went with it.

November Recipes

Hello! These are my recipes for over at ETM! If you like them, you can find them over there in the recipe section!

This first recipe came from one of the ladies that attended the scrapbook crop. We bring pot luck, and this was her dish! It was really good, so we made it into a recipe for the book.

For the sewing, I just used hemp and a hole punch!

This second recipe, came about because of the fair. You know how I l-o-v-e the fair. Well, they had a contest there for Karo Syrup. You were to make a pie, have it judged and so forth. Our recipes then became the property of Karo Syrup, so you may see my recipe on a bottle!!!
Anyways, I tweaked the recipe, so this is an original from me too. Its Carmel Pie. Actually, no bake, Carmel cream cheese pie! It is very yummy. My hubby doesn't like Carmel, but he ate a couple slices of this! (If you knew him, you would know that this is a miracle!)

Halloween Recipes A-H

I joined in one of the funnest swaps the other day over at Splitcoaststampers. It was a recipe swap of course, and you picked a letter of the alphabet to make a recipe around the Halloween theme!

PERFECT!!! I love it! So I signed up for a couple of spots, and sent them in, and here is what I got back!

Here is E & F. Now I am not sure what Halloween Ghosts have to do with E, it should have been Eerie Ghosts...

Halloween Treats

I got a scrapbooking kit from ETM. I love, love Halloween stuff, but you already know that!! So, I was in a store the other day and found some really cute little bottles. You know me, so in my cart they went!

I bought a few of them. I didn't know what I was going to do with them. Then I got my kit.

One of the papers in there, had 16 little goofy Halloween monsters on it. So I cut them out as cards to use as the background to my container.

I made a container with the cardstock in the kit. You cut a 8 1/2 page in half, so you have two 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 sheets. You score the long way, 1 1/4 th inch on both sides. Then on the short side, you score at 8 1/4, 7, 6, 4 3/4th inch. My bottles are one inch in size around, so I punched 1 inch holes in the lowest panel. Then I folded it up to make a box.

Here's a close up of one of the bottles, it has nerds in it. They make such bright great colors!

Here's my bottles. I made my own tops for them, because to buy the tops, they were $1 each. For the top. Incredible. So, I made my own and they work just fine! I wanted corks, but they cost more than the bottles too. Can't have a deal, if it ends up that way!!

So here is the second little monster that I made. Everything but the bottles and the nerds candy, was in my kit. Don't you love the spider buttons? The Boo! is felt...

Wreath & Scrapbook shares

When I went to the scrapbook crop the other day, we made these wreaths. The idea came from the SU catty, and all of the neat ribbons there. So, our wreath, actually had 4 rings on it, so it is a little wider and fluffier. I am still going to add some more ribbons into it, but I thought it was really pretty, and Christmas-y.

I'm going to take the saying out of the center, and put my families photo in there...

Then, when I had a minute to myself, I made a couple of layouts. I don't normally do rub-ons, but I had some, so here are my two layouts.
This first one is of my home in winter time. I tell my kids that they need to enjoy every season, and what it brings. You can have a favorite, but you need to Enjoy!

Here is my puppy boy, Beau. He is so big. He is so pretty to me. I love his fur. This is a rare day that he got to come in the house, so we took photos. Normally he is in his pen with his Annie and Lonesome. Don't worry, they are spoiled. They have a half acre for their pen, plus two sheds. There is also a chicken coop in their pen, they love to go mousing around it.

I thought that this bowl was sooo cute, I had to use it on a layout. And you already know how much I love polka dots! Plus, the brownies are awesome... Make them in a cookie sheet!

Egg rolls! I was going out of my box...trying the lined paper. I love that stuff, school things...just don't create with it enough. So it was fun to try! These are my boys favorite things lately!

Egg in the middle meatloaf. I swear it looks like eyeballs. So this is what I make when Halloween comes along, or even for April Fools Day. I even used spider webbing on it!

This is for Bacon Cheeseburger Chicken. Kim's family went nuts over this recipe, so I had to include it for you! Hope you like it too!

I went to a scrapbook crop the other day, and had a very nice time! I went here. While I was there, I caught up on some of my recipe kits from there. These are recipes that come in the monthly kits, but I always take the ones that I didn't create, and recreate them. So here is my version of them.

P.S. I don't recreate them, because I don't like the originals... I recreate them, to make them my creation!

So, to start, here is Ice Cream Bread. It really works! I was cleaning the deep freezer out and had some cheesecake ice cream, with banana and choc chips... I made the bread with it. It is fun to do, try it!

Stamp Class Share

I attended Stamp Class last night. It is always fun to go there, and then we make the cutest things. So I am sharing with you the projects we made..

Here is the first one. I love this stamp set, I tried not to look at it in the mini, but now I've gone and used it. I'm trying not to get it. :P She used the embossing template and we did a separate piece for the top of the card. Really pretty.

It must be that fall is in the air! Here is that same stamp set again, different stamps. I really love the colors. I like how she always does something with texture. I always forget to add that myself.

Then this!! There isn't anything better!! We decided that we were going to do 6 by 6's each month and add them to an album, so this is Octobers page. Dang cute!! I might have to break down and buy the owl punch to make ghosties!!

SO, here is my canning. I almost didn't even take this jar. I debated and in the end, I thought an entry was better than none. To my surprise, this entry not only got first place, it got best of class for fruit!!

Here's a close up of my pears. Everyone said they were really white. I peal them with a peeler, then put them in lemon juice before I put them in the syrup...

Few more fair shares for you. Here are my Christmas cards...

These were my sympathy cards...

I did an altered box. So this is an old wooden cigar box. The inside smells like cedar! So I have been saving these papers for a while, and this was the right project for them.

Here's a closeup of the flowers, just the scallop round punch, then you wad them up and stick them together! The leaves were a pansy leaf stamp, I stamped it on the other side, just the outline, cut them out, sponged them, folded them for the creases like leaf veins...sponged on more ink...

This is the latch part of the box, it opens the long way.

Then there was a category for altered tins. My tin has a hole in the center where there is acetate covering it so that you can look into the box.

Here's a closeup of the flower... I used the butterfly punch to make it.

Ok, blogger is doing some funky stuff... so sorry for the weird things, It may take me a day or two to figure out what they've done...
Here is some more fair shares for you! These were my birthday cards.

I got this stamp at the dollar store! Cool huh! It worked good for a chocolate cupcake.

You've seen this card before, but I jazzed it up a bit, I added clear gloss to the ice cream and glitter dots around the scallop.

These were my holiday cards. Normally I do all one holiday, but this time I chose to do 3 different holidays. All three are new cards for you!

Here's my valentines one. I used the medallion stamp and then a heart stamp. It was fun to make. I used rhinestones on the heart.

Here's my Easter card. My friend Joani sent me a card with a chick and an egg on it, so I made three chicks with DP eggs.

Here's my favorite of course! Halloweener card. I got a new set from SU, I sprayed all the pages with the sparkly spray, I forget what its called, but it is basically mica powder in an alcohol suspension. I like it, it drys quick and it is shiny! I used silver here. Then I used one of my little test tubes filled with candy and stuck on there with glue dots.

See... I didn't tell a lie! I did earn ribbons at the fair! These are my scrapbooking ribbons, and in the next few days, I'll share with you all my fair entries... ready??

This is an Honorable Mention... you have seen this one before, so I won't do a close up for you, but it was the two page layout that says Yellowstone on the top of it...

This one is Moveable Cards. You have seen them too, so if there is one you haven't seen, I give details...

This one was for Stamped Cards.... the top one, you saw as a bookmark, but I made it into a 6X6 card...

This one, you haven't seen, I love the Wanted set from SU.... then I got a belt set from CTMH...worked ok together I think!!

This one is the new vintage one from SU. I cased the side of the card from someone from the internet...I can't remember who...she cased it from someone else too... The pearls are my idea, and the F part is my idea too...

This one was for mixed medium...

This one was for Thank You cards.

stamp club night

I went to a stamp club the other night, thought I would show you what we made! I love this first card, I love silhouette things. It was so simple, I can't believe I haven't done more of them before! You make a mask, sponge the background on, then stamp the image over the top. Simple!

This second card, we got to use the owl punch. He is cute, I am liking punches more and more lately. I need to use my stamps, but sometimes the punches are fun. This is not a color choice I would have used, but its ok.

And then we made a 6 X 6 scrapbook page. Interesting color choice too, but it seems to work ok!
