A complete surprise!

About 5 years ago, my dad and I went shopping for a new fruit tree.  I have a transparent apple, and plum trees, and the year before I planted a granny smith...so I wanted another apple tree to help cross pollinate.  So we looked and looked and my dad showed me how to pick a good tree from a bad one.  We bought two, and came home to plant them.
We dug some nice holes and planted one in the pasture, and one in the front flower bed.  Well, the one in the pasture died right away, not enough water and too much puppy.
The one in the front, was doing great.  Last year it got blossoms on it, just a few, and I was grateful, because half of the tree looked as if it was killed.  So this spring, the whole tree was blossomed out, soooooo pretty!  I was hoping maybe an apple or two off of it, to help the tree become more established.  The blossoms left, and I didn't see any apple buds.  Oh well...maybe next year.
Well, I was picking currents, its under the apple tree.  I looked up, and this is what I saw!  A PEAR!

My little apple tree is a pear tree!  They have the same leaves, but must have been miss labeled in the store.  I have little pears all over in it.  Not a lot, but enough for it to be really cute!  As you all know by now, I LOVE pears!  I even have a "pear" room!
We'll have to see what happens next year!

Abbie & Maddie's books

I've been busy putting fair entries together, but needed to finish up these two baptism books for Miss Abbie and Miss Maddie.
So here is the first one, Abbers asked for purple.. (that's my girl!)

and here is Madsters, she wanted pink, DARK PINK Keerst!  Almost red, but not red, DARK PINK!  So here you go!
These two girls are something else!  I love them as if they were mine!  I've been working on the books for quite some time now, but they keep changing their minds on the colors.  So, a week before their birthdays, this is what they chose.
I took Abbie's with me to the fair for an entry on Chipboard Albums.. I'll let you know how that turns out later.

Its kinda a fun card to make!  So you pull the tab...
And inside your message comes out on another tab!  Fun huh!

Recipe Binder

I got to design a recipe binder for ETM! So I am sharing what I created with you!

Here is the front cover. I was given papers and a sticker/cardstock sheet to use.
Here is the back of the binder. I think in the lower right hand corner you could put your name and made by here.

There are six divider pages. Here is appetizers...
Here is Soups & Salads...

and main...

and sides

and breads...

and desserts...

For the binder, I also did a spine section, and something new, I added index pages too!
You can purchase this binder kit, over at ETM, go check it out!

Jade's Gourmet Cupcakes

Mr. Jade decided that he could make gourmet cupcakes. So I let him try. Here is his attempt! I think he did really well, and considering how long it took for them to be all eaten, he hit a home run!
He made chocolate cakes, and the frosting is chocolate buttercream. Then he put mini Hershey bars on top of the cakes!

My photo is bad, but here is a closeup of one of his cakes.
